![]() Read With: Other novels in verse: for an 8th grader Crank (series) and others by Ellen Hopkins Other love stories: The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, Someone Like You by Sarah Dessen In a way it reminds me of The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, which I think is another great love story (and had me sobbing and slobbery by the end, too). I'm a romantic so it had my heart all tied in knots from the first few pages. I think it's a great book for teens to be able to experience how Ava deals with the death of her boyfriend and how she is able to live the rest of her life. Death is such a hard subject but this book is a story about how one girl is able to deal with death. ![]() ![]() It works so well as a novel in verse, but the plot itself had me teary-eyed throughout and full-out crying by the end. What I Think: I think this book is amazing. ![]() Summary: A gripping novel in verse about a girl named Ava whose boyfriend dies.but then comes back to stay with her as a ghost. Genre/Format: Teen Issues - Realistic Fiction/Novel in Verse ![]()

My little girl's heartrending fate had to be taken into account together with the cuteness and limpidity. Spaniards and Italians pronounce it, of course, with exactly the necessary note of archness and caress. No, the first syllable should be as in "lollipop", the "L" liquid and delicate, the "lee" not too sharp. However, it should not be pronounced as you and most Americans pronounce it: Low-lee-ta, with a heavy, clammy "L" and a long "o". The suffix "-ita" has a lot of Latin tenderness, and this I required too. One of the most limpid and luminous letters is "L". “For my nymphet I needed a diminutive with a lyrical lilt to it. ![]() ![]() ![]() The first time I met Merrick Crawford was during my job interview. Instead of downplaying anything that makes The Doom Patrol the trippy ride that it is, the show instead leans into it. Unfortunately, when those comics make their way to screen, we see a lot of that madness disappear and a lot less of the fun and quirky side that flourishes in the comics, which is precisely where Doom Patrol shines.ĭoom Patrol is one of the most fun comic-to-screen adaptions I’ve ever seen.
